THOUGHTS IN ACTION: Creating dynamic phrases to catalyse personal growth

As those who participated in The INTENTIONS Workshop will know, I devise intentions for the year rather than New Years' Resolutions. Intentions enables me to get really creative with what I want and work out exciting ways to navigate my way there.

Along with these intentions, however, I also create a dynamic phrase to catalyse personal growth. This is usually come upon by chance. It is a phrase that I end up using to describe what I need to do to forge forwards. Last year, it was "There is more to do" - and whist it does not sound particularly dynamic, it gave me such hope and was a real call to arms every time I felt as though I wanted to give in.

This year it is:

UP AND OUT

It will serve as an antidote to those times that I feel stuck, or if I am getting bogged down with thoughts or if I have lost perspective. It reminds me that if I were to climb up to a higher vantage point and look out, the situation would look and feel totally different from up there.

It is active, it has movement, it shifts my point of view dynamically and catalyses the transformation from a stuck mindset to a growth mindset.

Up and Out: A new perspective makes all the difference

So, what is yours going to be?

Don't worry, you haven't missed the cut off. This doesn't have to be done in January. In fact, setting the tone a little later in the year can be even more useful. The dark depths of Winter and the month-that-feels-like-a-year that is January is often not the most energising of times. Now, as the buds are starting to press their heads just out of the soil, and we can sense slightly longer days that brings a tad more opportunity, perhaps now is a good time?

Some other suggestions might be:

Run into it

Slow and steady

One foot in front of the other

Soar and swoop

There are no rules, it is simply finding an active phrase that will continually call you to stay motivated, positive and act as an antidote to repeated thoughts that might keep you stuck.

Have fun, get creative and put your thoughts in action.
