ABOUT

Hello, I'm Gemma Cousins
I’m Gemma, an ICF accredited confidence coach with over 20 years’ experience as a professional actor, facilitator and confidence advocate.
My work has always centred on helping people feel more at ease in themselves, understand what gets in their way and uncover a kind of confidence that feels natural, steady and sustainable.
How I got here
Before becoming a coach, I spent two decades working as an actor in TV, theatre and education. Acting taught me something powerful: confidence isn’t about being the loudest person in the room, it’s about understanding yourself, managing your energy and knowing how to stay grounded when the pressure rises.
I saw the same struggles again and again in creative spaces, workplaces and classrooms: brilliant people who doubted themselves, held back their ideas or felt uncomfortable being seen. Over time, it became clear that helping people with confidence wasn’t just something I was good at, it was something I deeply cared about.
Coaching brought all my skills together: the psychology, the communication, the presence, the body language, the self-awareness.
Now I work with adults, teens, workplaces and community groups to help them feel more clear, confident and connected to who they are.
My approach
My coaching is gentle, practical and down to earth. I don’t believe in forcing confidence or pretending everything is fine. I believe in uncovering what’s already there.
With a blend of coaching tools, simple mindset shifts and embodied techniques from my acting background, I help people:
-
understand their patterns
-
manage self-doubt
-
set healthier boundaries
-
communicate with more clarity
-
rehearse new behaviours
-
trust themselves more deeply
Everything we do together is grounded in real-life confidence, the kind that shows up in meetings, conversations, decisions, relationships and everyday moments.
What I value
-
Comfortable confidence
Confidence that fits you, not someone else’s idea of who you should be.
-
Self-awareness
Understanding yourself so you can care for yourself and show up with intention.
-
Ethical, responsible coaching
Confidentiality, integrity and clear boundaries at the heart of every session.
-
Community and connection
People grow when they feel seen and supported. Whether in 1–1 sessions or group work, I create spaces where people can be themselves.
Who I work with
I support adults and teens who want to feel steadier, clearer and more grounded. I also run confidence workshops in organisations, schools and community settings, helping teams and young people develop the tools they need to communicate well, handle stress and feel more sure of themselves.
Why I do this
Because confidence changes everything.
Not by making you louder, bolder or different but by helping you finally feel at home in yourself.
If you’d like to explore what confidence could feel like for you, I’d love to connect.
